The centre, whose location remained undisclosed, will open in March, Delhaize said in a post on its LinkedIn profile.
Delhaize said earlier that the distribution centre will span 40,000 square metres after the completion of the first phase, with a further 120,000 square metres to be added in the second phase.
In 2014, Delhaize opened its first distribution centre, worth 50 million euro ($54.2 million) in the central town of Stara Pazova, near Belgrade, with 70,000 pallet storage places.
Delhaize has been present on the Serbian market since 2011 and operates more than 500 stores under four store formats - Maxi supermarket, Mega Maxi, Tempo and Shop&Go.
Approached for information on the size of the investment and capacity of the distribution centre, Delhaize has not responded to a SeeNews email by the time this article was published.
