October 25 (SeeNews) - Danish work uniforms producer Kentaur has opened a factory in Vranje, in southern Serbia, the city government said.
Kentaur plans to hire 150 workers during the first phase of the development of the factory and to open a further 200 jobs in the future, Vranje mayor Slobodan Milenkovic said on Thursday in a statement by the city government.
According to Serbian media reports, Kentaur has invested 1 million euro ($1.1 million) in the factory, which is located in the Free Zone of Vranje.
The facility is equipped with 150 sewing machines, Allan Voldby, the general manager of Kentaur's Serbian subsidiary Kentaur Balkans has said.
Over the next few years, 350 people will be employed, Voldby noted.
The Danish company makes pants, smocks, hats, tunics, shirts, jeans, outdoor wear, chef jackets, aprons, and tee shirts, and offers online service and support, according to data from its corporate website.
