The store will be in the central city of Smederevo, Jysk said in an emailed statement. This will be the third opening for Jysk in Serbia in November after cutting the ribbon on a store in the capital Belgrade and the city of Zrenjanin.
The retailer sees a significant growth potential in its segment for Serbia, Jysk's west Balkans manager, Vesna Kukic Loncaric, said on the opening of the first store in Serbia in April 2011. The company reckons with little competition on the local market which Loncaric described as "either high end or low end".
Since then, the retailer has been pushing ahead with plans to operate 40 stores across Serbia.
Jysk, active in 35 countries, has annual revenues of 2.5 billion euro ($3.21 billion) and 17,000 employees, the company said on its website (www.jysk.com).
