December 11 (SeeNews) - The touristic port at Vlora Marina, a development project in the coastal city of Vlora in Southern Albania, will be operated by Dutch marina management company D-Marin, the project’s developer said.
The developer, a consortium between diverse conglomerate Balfin Group, construction company Brunes and two special purpose vehicles, is investing some 45 million euro ($48.3 million) in the port, it said in a press release last week. The marina is set to feature 438 berths catering to yachts and mega-yachts up to 50 metres in length.
In July, Marriott International said it signed an agreement with Albanian developer Marina Residences Vlore for the development of the property through a 100 million euro investment involving a waterfront hotel and apartments under the Marriott brand, available for private ownership.
According to the announcement, D-Marin operates 23 marinas in Greece, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Montenegro, Croatia, Italy, Spain and Malta, totalling over 12,000 berths and dry dock facilities that can accommodate over 3,000 vessels.
