February 19 (SeeNews) - Czech transportation and logistics company METRANS Group said it has acquired Croatian rail transportation services provider Adria Rail in full as part of its expansion in Europe.
“Less than a year after METRANS Group took over 51% of Adria Rail, the Adria Rail Group of companies has become a 100% member of the METRANS Group,” METRANS said in a press release on Thursday.

Financial details were not disclosed.
METRANS Group is owned by German logistics company Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA).
Adria Rail has also been the intermodal operator of the trains connecting the Rijeka container terminal in the northern Croatian Adriatic coast to its terminal in Indija, on the outskirts of Belgrade in Serbia. Adria Rail covers over 70% of container traffic departing from the Brajdica Container Terminal in Rijeka.
The Croatian company generated revenue of some 9.1 million euro ($9.8 million) in 2022, up from 7.6 million in 2021, according to data by Finance Analytics - Dun & Bradstreet consultancy.
