Cruise passenger arrivals to Montenegro up 32% in 2023

March 15 (SeeNews) - The number of cruise passengers who visited Montenegro in 2023 rose 31.7% to 571,124, the country's statistical office said.

The total number of cruise ship calls handled by Montenegro's seaports last year increased by 8.5% to 472, the office of statistics said in a statement on Thursday.

As many as 147 of the cruise ship calls operated in Montenegro were made by vessels sailing under the Malta flag, bringing some 174,400 passengers. Ships under the Bahamas flag amounted to 93 with some 130,800 passengers on board, and cruisers under the Panama flag amounted to 63, bringing 136,200 visitors to Montenegro.

In 2022, Montenegrin seaports serviced 433,568 passengers, up from 9,067 in 2021, while the number of cruise ship calls jumped to 435, from just 63 in 2021.
