Croatia's trade gap shrinks 5.2% in Jan-Feb

April 9 (SeeNews) - Croatia's trade deficit declined to 2.587 billion euro ($2.814 billion) in the first two months of this year, compared with a gap of 2.730 billion euro in the same period of 2023, the country's statistical office said on Tuesday.

Exports rose 2.4% on the year to 3.550 billion euro in the January-February period, while imports fell 1.0% to 6.137 billion euro, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics said in a statement, quoting preliminary data.

Croatia's exports to the European Union went up by 1.3% on the year to 2.387 billion euro, whereas imports from the EU expanded 5.6% to 5.003 billion euro in the period under review.

Croatia's trade deficit declined to 16.6 billion euro last year from 17.8 billion euro in 2022.
