August 29 (SeeNews) - Croatian software company Span [ZSE: Span] said on Tuesday it plans to set up a unit in Georgia.
The markets of Eastern Europe and Central Asia are in Span’s strategic focus, Span said in a filing to the Zagreb bourse.
At the time when its affiliate company TOV Span was founded in Ukraine, Span also received Microsoft Licensing Solution Provider (LSP) status for Georgia and Moldova. Span said it had planned after registering a company in Moldova to initiate the registration of a company in Georgia as well, but the COVID-19 pandemic, Russian aggression against Ukraine and threats to Georgia, required special caution.
"Over the past few months, we've made quality contacts and secured everything necessary to enter the Georgian market," it added.
At the same time, Microsoft is consolidating LSP partners in many markets, including Georgia, so this is the optimal moment to enter the market as an experienced medium-sized partner on a global scale, it explained.
Span’s shares closed 1.36% lower at 58 euro ($62.8)on Tuesday on the Zagreb bourse.
