Last month, the investor submitted an application to the ministry requesting an assessment of the environmental impact of the project, the ministry said in a statement last week.

The solar power plant will cover some 0.88 hectares near the company's water accumulation lake and pump station. Ponikve Voda intends to use the electricity produced by the solar power plant to meet the requirements of its water supply facilities. Any excess electricity generated will be fed into the public electricity grid.
