Petrol remained the most popular fuel type for newly-registered cars in Croatia, with 2,045 sold cars, followed by hybrid electric passenger cars (1,216) and diesel ones (903) in the period under review, ACEA said in a statement.
Last month, the highest annual rise was reported in hybrid electric car registrations, by 93.9%, followed by a 67.6% increase in diesel car registration. Battery electric car sales dropped 57.3% to 82 ones.
"In January 2024, the EU new car market rebounded from the slowdown experienced in December 2023, with year-on-year car registrations increasing by 12.1% to 851,690 units," according to ACEA.
New passenger car registrations in Croatia increased 31% on the year in 2023, to 57,694, ACEA said earlier.
