March 21 (SeeNews) - New passenger car registrations in Croatia rose by 25.8% on the year in the first two months of this year, to 9,022, the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) said on Thursday, quoting provisional figures.
Petrol remained the most popular fuel type for newly-registered cars in Croatia, with 3,943 sold cars, followed by hybrid electric passenger cars (2,671) and diesel ones (1,826) in the period under review, ACEA said in a statement.
The highest annual rise was reported in hybrid electric car registrations, by 96.4%, followed by a 50% increase in plug-in hybrid car registration. Battery electric car sales dropped 62% to 132 ones.
In the first two months of this year, car registrations in the European Union grew by 11.2% to 1.7 million units, according to ACEA.
New passenger car registrations in Croatia increased 31% on the year in 2023, to 57,694, ACEA said earlier.
