Petrol remained the most popular fuel type for newly-registered cars in Croatia, with 10,063 sold cars, followed by hybrid electric passenger cars (6,275) and diesel ones (4,416) in the period under review, ACEA said in a statement.
The highest annual rise was reported in hybrid electric car registrations, by 48.9%, followed by a 38.7% increase in plug-in hybrid car registration. Battery electric car sales dropped 66.5% to 229 ones.
During the first four months of the year, new car registrations in the European Union increased by 6.6%, reaching nearly 3.7 million units, according to ACEA.
New passenger car registrations in Croatia increased 31% on the year in 2023, to 57,694, ACEA said earlier.
