Petrol remained the most popular fuel type for newly-registered cars in Croatia, with 6,919 sold cars, followed by hybrid electric passenger cars (4,361) and diesel ones (3,137) in the period under review, ACEA said in a statement.
The highest annual rise was reported in hybrid electric car registrations, by 58.9%, followed by a 54.9% increase in plug-in hybrid car registration. Battery electric car sales dropped 65.7% to 194 ones.
In the quarter of this year, car registrations in the European Union grew by 4.4% reaching nearly 2.8 million units, according to ACEA.
New passenger car registrations in Croatia increased 31% on the year in 2023, to 57,694, ACEA said earlier.
