September 4 (SeeNews) - Croatian company Koncar – Engineering (KET), a fully-owned subsidiary of local electrical equipment manufacturer Koncar Elektroindustrija [ZSE:KOEI], said on Monday it signed a new contract with German holding company Joh. Achelis & Sohne GmbH for the partial rehabilitation of the Ruzizi 2 hydro power plant in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
"The scope of delivery includes design, manufacture, delivery, dismantling of existing and assembly of new equipment, testing and commissioning of the excitation and protection system for Unit 1 at the hydro power plant (1x15 MVA)," KET said on its Linkedin profile, without disclosing the value of the deal.

The contract represents a continuation of long-standing and successful cooperation with the customer, KET said. Last year, KET successfully completed the project of refurbishing the excitation and protection system of Units 2 and 3 at the same hydro power plant on the Ruzizi River, the natural border river between the DRC, Rwanda and Burundi.
Koncar’s shares traded flat at 180 euro ($194) on Monday morning on the Zagreb Stock Exchange.
