Croatia's Jan-Sept trade deficit rises

November 9 (SeeNews) - Croatia's trade gap widened to 45.6 billion kuna ($7.0 billion/6.0 billion euro) in the first nine months of 2017, from 43.2 billion kuna in the prior-year period, the country's statistical office announced on Thursday, citing preliminary data.

Croatia’s exports grew 13.4% on the year, reaching 75.5 billion kuna in January-September, while imports rose 10.3% to 121.0 billion kuna, the statistical office said in a statement.

Exports to the EU increased to 48.7 billion kuna in the review period, from 44.7 billion kuna a year earlier.

Imports from the EU grew to 94.0 billion kuna, from 86.1 billion kuna.
