Croatia's HEP swings to net loss in H1

October 4 (SeeNews) - Croatian state-owned energy supplier Hrvatska Elektroprivreda (HEP) reported a net loss of 1.136 billion kuna ($149 million/151 million euro) in the first half of this year, compared to a net profit of 1.251 billion kuna in the same period of 2021.

Operating revenue rose to 9.907 billion kuna in the period under review from 7.509 billion kuna a year earlier, while operating costs surged to 11.399 billion kuna from 6.018 billion kuna, according to data published on the company's website.

Adjusted EBITDA turned to a negative 333.9 million kuna in the first half of 2022 from a positive 2.606 billion kuna a year earlier, while EBIT was a negative 1.492 billion kuna compared to a positive 1.49 billion kuna in the first six months of last year.

The company's overall electricity sales in the review period fell to 8,329 GWh from 8,665 GWh in January-June 2021.
