Croatia's general govt debt down 0.4% y/y in Aug

December 12 (SeeNews) - Croatia's general government debt fell to 344.3 billion kuna ($48.1 billion/45.9 billion euro) in August, from 345.7 billion kuna in the same month of last year, central bank figures showed.

On a monthly comparison basis, general government debt added 0.01% in August, according to data published by the Croatian National Bank.

In August, the domestic component of general government debt increased by 1.9% on the year to 233.3 billion kuna, while the external component fell by 5.0% to 111 billion kuna.

The total consolidated debt of all general government sub-sectors rose 8.7% to 343.6 billion kuna last year.

Croatia will join the eurozone as its 20th member as of the beginning of the next year.
