Croatia's Belje Opens 60 Mln Kuna (8.4 Mln Euro) Cow Farm

October 10 (SeeNews) - Croatian food producer Belje, part of food concern Agrokor, on Friday said it will open today a milch cow farm near Darda, in eastern Croatia, following some 60 million kuna ($11.5 million/8.4 million euro) investment.

The farm will have a capacity for 480 cows, the company said in a statement to Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) where it is listed.

Belje has more than 20,000 ha of arable land and numerous farms and plants. It employs 2,000 people.

Belje’s shares closed at some 137 kuna on Thursday, down from Tuesday's close of 154 kuna. Wednesday, Croatia's Independence Day, was a public and market holiday in the country.
