April 15 (SeeNews) - Croatian shipping company Atlantska Plovidba [ZSE:ATPL] said it has decided to activate an option for the construction of a bulk cargo carrier with Chinese shipyard Jiangsu Hantong Ship Heavy Industry Co. for an estimated total price of $32.5 million ( million euro).
The ship will be delivered in 2027, Atlantska Plovidba said in a filing to the Zagreb Stock Exchange on Friday.
The vessel will be an Ultramax bulk carrier of 63,500 deadweight tonnes. It will meet the IMO Tier III emission and EEDI Phase 3 energy efficiency standards.
Atlantska said the ship will be built using an option related to an order it announced in February for the construction of two ships by the same Chinese shipyard for an estimated total price of $65 million, which will be delivered in 2026.
Atlantska's shares closed 2.67% lower at 43.80 euro on Friday. They have not started trading by 1021 local time on Monday.
