On a monthly comparison basis, Croatia's consumer price index (CPI) added 0.1% in May, after going up by 0.7% in April, the Bureau of Statistics said.
In May, prices of food, beverages, and tobacco rose by 3.2% year-on-year. Service costs increased by 6.1%, industrial non-food products (excluding energy) gained 1.5%, while energy prices grew 1.9%.
The statistical office will release final inflation data for May on June 17.
Measured by the EU-harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), prices of goods and services for personal consumption in Croatia increased by an average 4.3% in May. On a monthly comparison basis, HICP rose by an estimated 0.2% in May.
Croatia reported a 4.7% annual rise and an 1.0% monthly increase in HICP in April.
Croatia's average annual inflation slowed down to 8% last year from 10.8% in 2022.
