On a monthly comparison basis, Croatia's consumer price index (CPI) rose 0.7% in April, after adding 0.9% in March, the Bureau of Statistics said, confirming its first estimate released on April 30.
In April, prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 4.2% year-on-year, while transportation costs increased by 5.6%, and prices of hotels and restaurants jumped 10.4%.
Measured by the EU-harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), prices of goods and services for personal consumption increased by an average 4.7% year-on-year in April. On a monthly comparison basis, HICP rose by an estimated 1.0% in April. Croatia reported a 4.9% annual rise and a 0.9% monthly increase of HICP in March.
The country's average annual inflation slowed down to 8% last year from 10.8% in 2022.
