The wheat yield rose to 5.7 tonnes per harvested hectare by August 15, from 5.6 tonnes in 2019, the statistical office said in a statement earlier this week.

The office said earlier that wheat fields remained unchanged at 142,000 hectares this year.

According to this week's statement, Croatia's rapeseed output increased 6.7% to 111,000 tonnes, as yields per hectare rose to 2.7 tonnes from 2.5 tonnes in 2019.

Barley output was up 7.6% to 296,000 tonnes in 2020, yielding 5.1 tonnes per hectare, unchanged from a year earlier.

Oats output was flat at 58,000 hectares this year, yielding 3.2 tonnes per hectare.

In August, the statistical office said that this year's harvested area under rapeseed declined to 41,000 hectares from 44,000 hectares in 2019, while the total area put under barley rose to 58,000 hectares from 53,000 in 2019. The area under oats remained almost unchanged at 17,000 hectares.
