The 25-share benchmark CROBEX index closed 0.09% lower at 1,752.78 points after rising 20% on Wednesday.
The narrower blue-chip index, the CROBEX10, which tracks the 10 leading companies in terms of free-float, market capitalisation and liquidity on the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE), lost 0.22% to a close of 980.99 points.
The CROX index, which tracks the 12 most traded stocks on the ZSE and is calculated by the Vienna bourse, closed 0.62% lower in euro terms at 950.35.
Valamar Adria Holding [ZSE:KORF-R-A] posted the highest turnover among the blue chips of 2.2 million kuna ($308,600/294,000 euro). The stock closed 1.89% higher at 106.3 kuna.
Telecommunications equipment maker Ericsson Nikola Tesla [ZSE:ERNT-R-A] paced the blue-chip gainers, rising 2.47% to 1,239.92 kuna.
Power transmission equipment maker Dalekovod [ZSE:DLKV-R-A] led the blue-chip decliners, falling 4.36% to 117.25 kuna.
The bourse's total equity turnover in floor trading fell to 12.8 million kuna from 14.3 million kuna on Wednesday.
The fixed-income CROBIS index inched up 0.02% to 101.6748 points.
The CROBIS Total Return bond index, which has the same components as the CROBIS and also includes accrued interest or interest payments, added 0.04% to 118.2484 points.
