The 25-share benchmark CROBEX index ended 0.12% higher at 1,754.83 points after falling 0.09% on Thursday.
The narrower blue-chip index, the CROBEX10, which tracks the 10 leading companies in terms of free-float, market capitalisation and liquidity on the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE), lost 0.19% to a close of 979.17 points.
The CROX index, which tracks the 12 most traded stocks on the ZSE and is calculated by the Vienna bourse, closed 0.90% higher in euro terms at 958.80.
Hrvatski Telekom [ZSE:HT-R-A] posted the highest turnover among the blue chips of 1.5 million kuna ($261,200/200,500 euro). The stock fell 0.96% to 205.5 kuna.
Diversified holding company Djuro Djakovic [ZSE:DDJH-R-A] paced the blue-chip gainers, rising 3.69% to 69.37 kuna.
Adris Grupa [ZSE:ADRS-R-A] led the blue-chip decliners, falling 4.35% to 253 kuna.
The bourse's total equity turnover in floor trading fell to 8.1 million kuna from 12.8 million kuna on Thursday.
The fixed-income CROBIS index inched up 0.05% to 101.7234 points.
The CROBIS Total Return bond index, which has the same components as the CROBIS and also includes accrued interest or interest payments, added 0.06% to 118.3203 points.
The Zagreb bourse will be closed on Monday for Independence Day.
