Croatian Share Indices Mostly Fall in Calm Trading

December 30 (SeeNews) - The Croatian share indices mostly fell on Tuesday in calm trading as investors sought safe-haven in debt instruments, market players said.

"Trading on the Zagreb bourse was calm ahead of the year-end,” local brokerage Ilirika said in a daily note.

Total bond turnover was 130 million kuna.

Investor focus was mainly on the safer debt instruments, Ilirika’s note said.

The 28-share benchmark CROBEX lost 2.08% to 1,715.6 points.

The CROEMI 20-share index, calculated by Raiffeisenbank Austria, fell 1.77% to 1,544.34.

The narrowest index, CROX, which tracks the 12 most traded stocks on the Zagreb market and is calculated by the Vienna bourse, dropped 2.45% in euro terms to 1,011.36% points.

Telecommunications company T-HT, an index heavyweight, lost 3.73% to 200 kuna on 8.33 million kuna of turnover.

Another heavyweight stock, oil and gas company INA, fell 4.03% to 1,118 kuna on two million kuna of turnover.

The fixed-income CROBIS index edged up 0.01% to 90.02.

Overall turnover in floor trading fell to around 28 million kuna from 79.9 million kuna on Monday.
