Croatian Share Indices End Lower

"Today’s trading was marked by great volatility of the CROBEX index which, after losing more than two percent intraday, rebounded to close only 0.30% lower," said a broker with Zagrebacka Banka.

The 28-share benchmark CROBEX of the Zagreb bourse finished at 2,967.01, its lowest level this year.

The CROEMI 20-share index, calculated by Raiffeisenbank Austria, fell 0.35% to 2,610.48.

The narrowest index, CROX, which tracks the 12 most traded stocks on the Zagreb market and is calculated by the Vienna bourse, dropped 1.95% in euro terms to 1,768.97.

Shares of blue-chip telecommunications company T-HT fell 1.52% to 253 kuna on the day’s biggest turnover of 11.6 million kuna.

Shipping company Atlantska Plovidba was down 1.07% to 1,851 kuna on deals worth 10.4 million kuna.

Telecoms equipment maker Ersiccon Nikola Tesla rose 1.67% to 1,830 kuna on 7.1 million kuna of turnover.

The share price of oil and gas company INA rebounded 3.88% to close at 2,649 kuna on 1.7 million kuna of turnover. A public bid by the company’s strategic partner, Hungarian peer MOL, that is offering 2,800 kuna per share for INA’s 30.16% free float, expired on Friday.

Turnover in floor trading was 67.3 million kuna ($13 million/9.4 million euro), slightly up from 65.1 million kuna a day earlier.

The fixed-income Crobis index added 0.03% to 96.02 points.
