Croatian rail carrier seeks 32 electric trains, to call diesel engine tender by end-2012

ZAGREB (Croatia), December 27 (SeeNews) – Croatian state-owned railway passanger carrier HZ Putnicki Prijevoz has issued a public call for the supply of 32 electric trains aimed for innercity and regional transport and plans to invite by the end of the year bids for the procurement of 12 diesel trains for regional transport, the country's transport ministry said.

The estimated cost of the electric train contract is 1.3 billion kuna ($221.9 million/172 million euro), the transport ministry told SeeNews in an email.

The bidding deadline is February 12, data from Croatia's public procurement web portal showed.
