ZAGREB (Croatia), November 20 (SeeNews) – The Croatian parliament has approved the appointment of Djuro Popijac as the country's new Economy Minister, Croatian state-run news agency Hina reported.
Parliament also endorsed on Thursday the appointment of Health Minister Darko Milinovic and Finance Minister Ivan Suker as new deputy prime ministers, Hina (www.hina.hr) said.
Popijac, who previously served as director of the Croatian Employers Association, replaces Damir Polancec after he resigned in October, following calls from the opposition and the media that he step down in the wake of a series of corruption scandals.
