Croatian insurance sector H1 unaudited profit rises 11.7%

October 2 (SeeNews) - Croatian insurers and reinsurers posted a combined unaudited half-year profit of 374.6 million kuna ($65 million/50.2 million euro), up 11.7%, the local financial watchdog said.

Out of the 27 insurance companies operating in Croatia, seven posted a loss in the review period, while 20 were profitable, Hanfa said in a statement on its website.

Euroherc Osiguranje posted the biggest profit of 87.3 million kuna over the review period, followed by Croatia Osiguranje with 51.9 million kuna.

The only reinsurance company, Croatia Lioyd closed the first half of 2012 with a profit of 22.9 million kuna.
