August 23 (SeeNews) - The main equity indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) declined on Tuesday after a brief rebound on Monday, bourse data showed.
Shares of diversfied holding group Djuro Djakovic [ZSE:DDJH], which are not part of the indices, were the biggest daily gainer on Tuesday. They ended 5.88% higher at 90 kuna as 75 shares changed hands on the news that its unit Djuro Djakovic Special Vehicles signed an 189.9 million kuna ($25 million/25 million euro) contract to manufacture and deliver its Shimmns freight rail carriages to GATX Rail Europe (GRE), a subsidiary of US full-service railcar lessor GATX.
The 22-share blue-chip index, the CROBEX, declined 0.52% to end at 2,003.13 points. The narrower CROBEX10, which tracks the top ten companies in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, lost 0.49% to finish at 1,199.07 points.
Preferred shares of diversified holding company Adris [ZSE:ADRS2] were the most traded stock on Tuesday with a turnover of 1.7 million kuna. Their price fell 0.49% to end at 409 kuna.
Shares of shipping company Atlantska Plovidba [ZSE:ATPL] lost 2.10% to end at 420 kuna in a turnover of 479,000 kuna, after they dropped 1.83% on Monday on the news that its bulk carrier Revelin has been struck by another vessel and suffered a serious damage while leaving the U.S. Port Arthur.
In lower turnovers, shares of food and pharmaceuticals producer Podravka [ZSE:PODR] fell 1.0%, shares of hotel operator Valamar Riviera [ZSE:RIVP] lost 0.60% and shares of electrical equiopment manufacturer Koncar Elektroindustrija [ZSE:KOEI] dropped 1.12%.
The bourse's total trading turnover was 4.8 million kuna, down from 5.0 million kuna on Monday.
