November 10 (SeeNews) - The Croatian campsites registered 21.2 million overnights in 2022, an increase of 22% year-on-year, the Croatian camping union said.
The camping tourism continues to affirm its position as one of the most successful segmens of the Croatian tourism market, the camping union said in a press release on Wednesday.
Along with nautical tourism and household farms, the campsites were the only segment to exceed the results from pre-pandemic year 2019.
The campsites booked 10% growth of overnights this year compared to record-high result of 2019, beating the expectations from the beginning of the year, the union said.
Tourism is a key industry for the Croatian economy, contributing a fifth of the country's GDP.
