October 26 (SeeNews) - Croatian apparel maker Varteks said it posted a loss of 38.2 million kuna ($7.9 million/5.3 million euro) through September on adverse market conditions.
The company provided no comparative figures.
Company revenues fell 20.1% to 256.5 million kuna in the first nine months of 2009, while costs dropped by 8.1% to 294.7 million kuna, the company said in a filing with the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) on Friday.
Exports over the review period totalled 108 million kuna with markets in the European Union accounting for the bulk of shipments abroad.
Varazdin-based Varteks (www.varteks.com) employs around 2,800.
No Varteks shares were traded on the Zagreb bourse by 1200 GMT on Monday. The stock closed flat at 30.5 kuna on Friday.
