Croatia to buy three helicopters for civil protection units with 21 mln euro EU grant

November 19 (SeeNews) - Croatia will use a 161.5 million kuna ($25.3 million/21.4 million) European Union grant financing to acquire three multipurpose helicopters for the needs of its civil protection service, the economy ministry said on Thursday.

The EU grant will cover 85% of the total cost of the project of 190 million kuna, the economy ministry said in a press release.

The project, to be implemented under the EU's Operational Programme Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014 - 2020, also envisages training of civil protection forces to act in cases of emergencies, major accidents and disasters.
