The amount will be provided from the state budget for 2025, health minister Vili Beros told a weekly cabinet session on Monday. An audio recording of the meeting is available on the website of the government.

The deal involves the design and construction of a biopharmaceutical facility dedicated to producing animal immune serums for both human and veterinary applications. Its primary focus will be on manufacturing antitoxins targeting the venom of European venomous snakes.

Beros added that this facility is part of the institute's revitalisation, with plans for subsequent construction including a plasma fractionation facility and a unit for vaccine production against viruses.
