The project is financed by a government-guaranteed loan, as the completion deadline is March 2022, the ministry said in a press release on Thursday.

The hospital will spread over 44,000 square metres and will have eight floors.

Rijeka, with a population of some 129,000, is the third-largest city in Croatia.
