December 11 (SeeNews) - The number of building permits issued in Croatia in October fell by 12.1% on the year to 1,114, the State Statistics Bureau said.
The number of building permits issued in the first ten months of 2009 increased by 1.4% on the year, the statistics office said on its website.
In October alone, the number of permits issued for buildings fell to 974 with a total volume of 1.18 million cubic metres, from 1,130 permits with a volume of 1.55 billion cubic metres a year ago. Permits issued for buildings in October accounted for 87.4% of the total, while the remaining 12.6% were issued for civil engineering works.
The value of construction works in October increased to 3.23 billion kuna ($654 million/444 million euro) from 2.85 billion kuna a year earlier.
