At the end of January, the forex reserves were also lower than they had been a year earlier, when they totalled 1.938 billion euro, the central bank said in a data release.
The total reserve assets of Croatia's central bank declined to 2.659 billion euro at the end of January from 2.880 billion euro a month earlier, and 3.174 billion euro at the end of January 2023, according to data posted on the website of the central bank.
Croatia had no gold reserves at the end of January.
Its special drawing rights (SDRs) totalled 1.217 billion euro in January, up from 1.207 billion in December but down from 1.236 billion euro in January 2023. Croatia's reserve position in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was 0.5 million euro unchanged on a monthly and annual comparison basis.
