Croatia 11-mo new car sales drop 23%

December 5 (SeeNews) - New passenger car sales in Croatia fell 23% to 30,029 vehicles in the first eleven months of the year, market research agency Promocija Plus said on Wednesday.

Volkswagen was the top-selling brand in the country of 4.3 million people with 4,101 cars sold through November, down from 4,754 in the same period last year, Promocija Plus said in a statement.

Peugeot was the runner-up with 2,644 cars sold through November versus 3,162 a year earlier. Opel ranked third with 2,527 sold vehicles, compared to 3,789 in the first eleven months of 2011.

The best-selling models in Croatia were Opel Astra with 1,202 vehicles, followed by Volkswagen's Polo and Citroen's C4 models with 1,093 and 941 units, respectively, in the period under review.
