June 5 (SeeNews) - A consortium comprising one Romanian and two Turkish companies has won a contract worth 994.7 million lei ($217.4 million/199.9 million euro) for the construction of two viaducts on the Transylvania A3 motorway, Cristian Pistol, head of Romania's road infrastructure company CNAIR, said on Wednesday.

The viaducts, measuring 1.2 km and 2 km, respectively, in length, will allow the motorway to avoid areas with frequent landslides between the villages of Nadaselu and Mihaiesti, in the northwestern county of Cluj, Pistol said in a Facebook post. The contract will be financed through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), he added.

The consortium of Turkish companies Ozaltin and Ilgaz as well as Romanian firm Visio Construction Works must complete the project in 27 months, with nine months allotted for the design stage and eighteen months allowed for the execution stage.

Visio Construction Works is a Romanian engineering and procurement and construction service provider employing around 180 people. In 2023, it booked a profit of 3.99 million lei on revenue of 95 million lei, according to data from the finance ministry.
