The new business line aims to help investors and occupiers in the region comply with relevant regulations and government targets, the company said in a statement.
"Our SEE team has already proven its capabilities within ESG & Sustainability services, but with the decision to formally launch a new business line, we will be able to strengthen these services and deliver innovative climate, social value and wellbeing solutions that deliver transformational outcomes for the environment and people," Bosko Tomasevic, CBRE managing director for the SEE region, said.
With only 15% of global real estate assets currently aligned with the Paris Agreement's goal of net-zero emissions to limit global warming to no more than 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels by 2050, there is much work to be done to ensure a sustainable future, the company noted.
The new department will be headed by Sladjana Popovic, who is also the company’s country head for Bulgaria.
CBRE SEE provides services in Serbia, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania and North Macedonia.
