Bulgaria's YTD power output falls 21%, consumption slips 4.8%

November 27 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's electricity production declined by an annual 21.43% to 35,664 GWh between January 1 and November 26, the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO) said on Monday.

Domestic power consumption went down 4.77% on the year to 32,354 GWh, ESO said in a weekly data release.

The country's power trade surplus plunged by 71.01% year-on-year to 3,310 GWh in the review period.

The volume of renewable energy in the transmission network soared by 60.52% to some 2,313 GWh. Solar power jumped by an annual 140.9% to roughly 1,507 GWh, whereas wind power added 5% to some 711.7 GWh.

In parallel, the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system increased by 12.08% to 2,284 GWh.

The output of hydropower plants fell by 18.41% year-on-year to 2,851 GWh in the period under review.
