Bulgaria's YTD power output climbs 8%, consumption flattish

November 22 (SeeNews) - Production of electricity in Bulgaria rose by 8.10% on the year to 44,485 GWh in the period from January 1 to November 20, the Electricity System Operator (ESO) said.

In contrast, year-to-date domestic power consumption slipped by an annual 1.68% year-to-date to 33,308 GWh, ESO said in its weekly newsletter on Monday.

According to the data, Bulgaria's power trade surplus jumped by 54.71% to 11,176 GWh in the period under review.

The volume of renewable energy in the transmission network rose by 26.69% to 1,413 GWh. In parallel, the volume of renewable energy in the distribution grid went up by 15.78% to 2,006 GWh.

The output of hydro power plants decreased by 25.08% to 3,431 GWh.
