SOFIA (Bulgaria), October 3 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria’s power output rose by 2.66% year-on-year to 33,713 GWh in the period January 1 – October 1, data from the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO) showed.
Electricity consumption increased by 5.69% on the year to 29,463 GWh during the review period, according to figures published on the ESO website.
Power exports fell 14.34% year-on-year to 4,250 GWh in the review period. Bulgaria halted electricity exports from January 13 to February 9 to meet increased domestic demand amidst harsh winter weather conditions.
Renewable energy in the transmission system increased by 13.42% on the year to 996,674 MWh in the period January 1 – October 1, while renewable energy in the distribution system rose by 4.49% to 1,467,645 MWh.
