SOFIA (Bulgaria), November 21 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria’s power output rose by an annual 1.72% to 39,537 GWh in the January 1 – November 19 period, according to data of the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO).
Electricity consumption increased by 4.56% on the year to 34,642 GWh during the review period, data published on the ESO website shows.
Power exports fell 14.71% year-on-year to 4,895 GWh in the period under review. Bulgaria halted electricity exports from January 13 to February 9 to meet increased domestic demand amid harsh winter weather conditions.
Renewable energy in the transmission system increased by 10.46% on the year to 1,149 GWh in the January 1 – November 19 period, while renewable energy in the distribution system grew by 1.74% to 1,658 GWh.
