December 6 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's state-owned coal-fired thermal power plant (TPP) Maritsa Iztok 2 said on Friday it has opened a 4 million levs ($2.3 million/2.0 million euro) tender for the installation of new automated fire alarm and fire suppression systems.
The tender envisages the installation of fire protection systems in all eight units of the power plant, TPP Maritsa Iztok 2 said in a notice.
Works must be wrapped up within 20 months of the contract signature date.
Candidates in the public procurement procedure should prove they have conducted works under contracts of similar scope in the last five years and that they have all the necessary technical equipment.
The deadline for submitting offers is January 7, 2020.
In June, a fire broke out at Unit 8 of Bulgaria's coal-fired power plant Maritsa Iztok 2 but no casualties or air pollution above norms were reported, the energy ministry said at the time.
