Bulgaria's tourist overnights revenue up 18% y/y in Oct

December 11 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's revenue from tourist overnights grew by an annual 17.7% to 83.8 million levs ($46.2 million/42.8 million euro) in October, the statistical office said on Monday.

Revenue from domestic tourists totalled 49.6 million levs, while foreign visitors contributed 34.2 million levs in the review month, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.

The total number of tourist overnights climbed by 4.4% year-on-year, reaching some 1.07 million in October. Overnights spent by Bulgarians amounted to 701,900, with the remaining 364,700 spent by foreigners.

In October, the total number of tourists who stayed in accommodation facilities in Bulgaria rose by 1.8% to 493,400. Of them, 149,000 were foreign visitors, up 9.6% on the year, while Bulgarian nationals fell by 1.2% to 344,500, the NSI said.
