Bulgaria's tourist overnights revenue jumps 20% y/y in Dec

February 12 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's revenue from tourist overnights leapt by 19.8% on the year to 89.7 million levs ($49.4 million/45.9 million euro) in December, the statistical office said on Monday.

Revenue from domestic tourists came in at 62.2 million levs, while foreign visitors contributed 27.5 million levs in the review month, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.

The total number of tourist overnights rose by an annual 2.9%, reaching 995,800 in December. Overnights spent by foreigners totalled some 271,500.

In December, the total number of tourists who stayed in accommodation facilities in Bulgaria added 4.3% year-on-year to 493,000. Of them, 117,200 were foreign visitors, down 4.6% on the year, while Bulgarian nationals grew by 7.5% to 375,800, the NSI said.
