Revenue from domestic tourists came in at 62.2 million levs, while foreign visitors contributed 27.5 million levs in the review month, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
The total number of tourist overnights rose by an annual 2.9%, reaching 995,800 in December. Overnights spent by foreigners totalled some 271,500.
In December, the total number of tourists who stayed in accommodation facilities in Bulgaria added 4.3% year-on-year to 493,000. Of them, 117,200 were foreign visitors, down 4.6% on the year, while Bulgarian nationals grew by 7.5% to 375,800, the NSI said.
