The drop in tobacco production is due to dry summer weather, NAT-2010 chairman Tsvetan Filev said in an audio file published on the website of public radio BNR on Friday.

The quality of this year’s harvest, however, is very high, he added.

The tobacco leaf-buying campaign will be most active in the months of November and December, as usual, Filev noted, adding that currently there are ten active tobacco traders on the Bulgarian market.
