October 10 (SeeNews) - The revenue from tourist overnights spent in Bulgaria in August increased by 8.6% year-on-year to 377.8 million levs ($212.8 million/193.2 million euro), the country's statistical office said on Thursday.
Revenues from overnights spent by Bulgarian tourists increased by 18.7% year-on-year in August, while revenues from overnights of foreign nationals rose by 6.2%, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
The total number of tourist overnights spent in Bulgaria increased by 5.4% to 6.41 million in August.
The largest increase in the number of overnights, by 6.5%, was registered by one-star and two-star hotels which reported 44.2% of total overnights spent by Bulgarian tourists and 9.1% of the overnights of international visitors.
A total of 1.46 million tourists stayed in accommodation facilities in Bulgaria in August, up by 11.4% year-on-year.
