The production of solid fuels recorded a 51.7% annual drop to some 1.39 million tonnes, although that was 6.3% higher than in the previous month, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a regular data release.
Bulgaria's total output of oil products slipped by 1.1% year-on-year to 617,000 tonnes in September, which was equivalent to a monthly decline of 10.7%. Production of petrol, although 12.3% lower month on month, nevertheless jumped by 50% compared to September 2022.
Looking at energy products deliveries, natural gas recorded the sharpest annual increase, of 28.8% to 179 million cubic metres (mcm), which was also 7.2% higher on the month. Deliveries went down year-on-year only for solid fuels and for electricity.
The largest decline on a monthly basis was in the delivery of petrol, down 34.2% to 52,000 tonnes in September. Deliveries of oil products, meanwhile, lost 14.8% although their volume was 3.7% higher compared to the same month last year, NSI data showed.
